BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The high demand for residential real estate in some parts of Buffalo is pushing developers to consider converting the former School 56 into apartments.

Business First reports that several developers have shown interest in converting the three-story building at 722 W. Delavan Avenue near Elmwood into apartments or condominiums.

Developers have a mid-July deadline to present plans to the city.

School 56 was once an Olmsted School and more recently a temporary facility for freshman from McKinley High School, who were housed there while their school underwent massive renovations,
