UB Police seek suspicious man seen lurking in women’s restrooms


BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – University at Buffalo Police are looking into reports of a suspicious man entering women’s restrooms on the college’s South Campus.

The first incident occurred on June 10th in Kapoor Hall. Witnesses say they saw an Asian male going into women’s bathrooms. The witnesses also told police that they believe the man was attempting to photograph women. Investigators are currently trying to positively ID a possible suspect, whose image was captured on a security camera.

In what police say is an unrelated matter, a man with a similar description was arrested on June 24th in Diefendorf Hall for harassing a female employee.

University Police have increased patrols in the area of these incidents and urge students and faculty to be on the look out for unusual behavior on campus.

Members of the university community are encouraged to report any unusual circumstances or suspicious activities to the University Police as soon as possible. Tips on campus crime can be reported at 645-2227 or anonymously at www.upolice.buffalo.edu.
