Cougar, black bear removed from illegal facility

POMFRET, N.Y. (WIVB) – A black bear, a cougar and a several other animals were removed from an illegally operated animal facility in Chautauqua County, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.

The animals are being transported from the All Living Things facility in Pomfret, to their new home in San Diego, California. The DEC reports the transfer was in the best interest of the animals and the public.

The DEC says they worked with Lions, Tigers and Bears Animal Rescue to secure the animals and take them to their new home. Veterinarians will make sure the animals are healthy and transferred safely.
