Crews complete construction of replica watchman’s tower

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A replica of an 1880s Life Saving Watchman’s Tower has been erected on the Buffalo Break Wall.

The tower once served as a lookout point to help guide boats into and out of Buffalo Harbor. Organizer’s worked hard to match the original building.

Trustee Kevin McCarthy said, “The design came from our historical photos. We just basically scaled what was out on the site. And were able to determine height and width.”

If you’d like to check out the watchman’s tower for yourself, it’s at the corner of Michigan and South Park Avenues.
