Man crashes into construction vehicle on Rt. 33, charged with DWI

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – An East Aurora man was charged with DWI early Friday morning after crashing head-on into a construction vehicle on Rt. 33.

Troopers say Judson Aungst drove westbound in the eastbound lane and struck an unoccupied DOT vehicle around 1 a.m.

Police say the 34-year-old was uninjured but found he was intoxicated. His BAC was reportedly .19 percent, which is more than twice the legal limit.

Aungst is charged with aggravated DWI and several traffic violations.
