BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A brief outage shut down the Metro Rail above ground on Friday.

Around 8 p.m., a rail car became stranded at Main and Court when a cable on top of the car stopped delivering power to the train. While crews worked to repair the problem, the NFTA deployed eight extra buses to ferry people between Erie Canal Harbor and Fountain stations.

Two hours later, the problem was repaired and above ground rail service began running as normal.
