CAMBRIA, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say they used Narcan to revive an incoherent woman who was on multiple prescription medications.

Troopers responded to a 911 call Friday and went to a home on Lockport Road in the Town of Cambria. Officers say they found a woman on the rear porch. She was lying down and screaming incoherently.

Police say their investigation revealed she was on a number of prescription medications, including Hydrocodone.

Paramedics responded and tried to administer Narcan, but were unsuccessful. They requested troopers step in to help.

Police were able to administer one dose and say the woman responded quickly. She calmed down and became more rational. Paramedics were then able to administer a second dose, which helped to further quell the situation.

The woman was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
