TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Don’t have a fishing license? That won’t matter this weekend!

June 28 and 29 is the Department of Environmental Conservation’s free fishing weekend. If you’ve never fished before or haven’t fished in a long time, it’s a perfect opportunity to get a pole and try your hand at catching a fish.

This event is held the last weekend of June each year.

If you’re looking for a place to fish, you can try the Tonawandas Fishing Tournament at Gateway Harbor.
