BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A driver stopped on Tonawanda Street had 55 active suspensions on his driver’s license, according to New York State Police.

Troopers stopped 51-year-old William Liga on Sunday because his passenger was not wearing a seat belt. Police say Liga had a stay away order of protection from a female passenger, who was in the back seat of his car.

Liga is charged with second-degree criminal contempt and vehicle and traffic charges. He was committed to the Erie County Holding Center.
