Lewiston Police trying to ID hit-and-run vehicle

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Lewiston Police are turning to the public for help in identifying a car that hit a person and fled the scene Monday morning.

Police say a silver or gray Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis struck a Modern Disposal worker who was on the side of Ridge Road on the 1700 block. Investigators say the car was traveling east on Ridge Road at the time the man was hit.

The car is missing its passenger side mirror but it’s not known if there is any other damage to the vehicle. The man who was struck was sent to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for a minor injury to his arm.

Anyone with any information on the vehicle or driver, is urged to contact LPD Officer Cain at 754-8477 or 438-3394.
