Fire breaks out overnight on Lombard Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Fire investigators are busy Tuesday morning investigating an overnight blaze.

Firefighters tried to get inside a home on Lombard Street around 1:30 a.m. to fight the flames, but the chief says there was too much debris in the home.

This fire was very close to the one that happened on Paderewski Monday, which destroyed three houses. News 4 asked Buffalo Fire officials if they find the close proximity suspicious.

Buffalo Fire Department Division Chief James Lamacchia said, “Yeah, I can’t tell you what the cause is, obviously it’s going to be under investigation, but yeah, we’ve had a series of fires in this neighborhood and it certainly does look suspicious.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
