Illustrator from Buffalo hit by boat in Vermont

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – An illustrator from Buffalo was injured Saturday after being hit by a boat while swimming in Lake Iroquois in Vermont.

WCAX reports 62-year-old Jane Marinsky, whose husband describes her as a veteran swimmer, was struck by a power boat. She was rushed to the hospital with multiple broken ribs and a cracked sternum, but was luckily not struck by the propeller.

According to her bio page on the Society of Children’s Booke Writers and Illustrators website, Marinsky teaches illustration at Daemen College, lives in Buffalo, and summers in Vermont.
