Officers stop woman after witnessing drug transaction

ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A southern tier woman was arrested Tuesday after deputies say they witnessed her take part in a drug transaction.

After allegedly making the sale, officers pulled 25-year-old Amanda Calkins of Little Valley over on Sugar Town Road in the Town of Ellicottville. Detectives say they discovered several Hydrocodone pills and learned that Calkins has been supplying several people in the Salamanca area with the prescription drug.

She is charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $750 bail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
