BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – This coming fall, students at the University at Buffalo will be able to wait for a bus in a heated bus shelter.

The university is installing two new bus shelters, one with heating elements, located near O’Brian Hall. The other near the Flint Loop won’t be heated but should help keep out the intense cold during Buffalo winters.

The UB Spectrum reports that the shelters will complete by August 1.

The shelter near O’Brian Hall will have a solar power panel added to the rooftop.

UB students have been asking for heated bus shelters for years.  he most difficult part was locating an area that wouldn’t interfere with underground utilities and infrastructure.
