JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) – Jamestown Police report six of the seven people involved in a home invasion on Falconer Street have now been taken into custody.
Officers say with the help of New York State Parole, two suspects were located in Buffalo. One is being held on a parole violation while the other is being interviewed by investigators in Jamestown.
Police were called to a home around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, a suspect described as a stocky black male with dreadlocks and a baggy red T-shirt fired a shot at an officer as the officer entered the home. The officer did return fire and the suspect jumped out of a window before fleeing with two other suspects heading south behind the houses on Stow Street.
A weapon was found outside the home and authorities believe it is the weapon used to fire on the officer.
Two other men were taken into custody inside the home and are being charged with first degree burglary. Their names have not been released.
A short time later, officers say two men matching the description of the suspects were seen walking on railroad tracks west of Jamestown. When police approached, the men fled, but were taken into custody. Their names are also not being released.
Authorities say one other suspect is still at large and it’s possible the suspect was hit by a shot fired by the officer and is seeking medical attention. Police ask anyone with information to call 483-7531 or 911.
