DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Three additional people have been arrested for allegedly taking part in a fight between a group of around 100 people Monday night that took Dunkirk Police and several other law enforcement agencies three hours to quell.
Arrested Thursday in the Deer Street brawl:
Sangranita Maxwell, 35, charged with trespass
Tocacarra Maxwell, 19, charged with trespass
Travis Maxwell, 16, charged with trespass and second degree harassment.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, city officers were called to Deer Street on reports of a large fight in the middle of the street. Authorities say sporadic brawls were breaking out as members of the group shouted, made threats and used profanity towards one another.
Police moved from location to location to break up the fights, taking into custody as many of the combatants as they could.
Some additional 30 officers from several agencies were called to the scene to help disperse the crowd. Authorities say that effort took three hours and resulted in six people being arrested, including:
Terry Young Copeland, 26, of Ruggles Street
Latrece Stewart, 24, of Fifth Street
Jennifer Mitchell, 33, of Deer Street
Tamika Stewart, 20, of Deer Street
Edward Casey, Jr., 20, of Townsend Street
Kelly Neallard, 36, of Deer Street
Around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, fights again began to flare up on Deer Street. Officers responded to put an end to the brawling, but at noon, a second bout began. In that instance, Alberta Maxwell-Battle, 32, of Deer Street was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, trespass and second degree harassment.
More arrests are expected as police identify additional suspects.
