Le Roy home destroyed by fire

LEROY, N.Y. (WIVB)– A family is without a place to live after a fire destroyed their home early Saturday morning.

Flames engulfed a home on North Road in Le Roy just after midnight on Saturday.

One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire from the outside of the home but wasn’t transported to the hospital. Fire crews had to be wary of three propane tanks that were outside of the home.

A News 4 photographer was at the scene when homeowner, David Luetticke-Archbell, arrived to see his home in flames. “I thought maybe it was a barn or something and looked up and there’s our home, with fire on it and it’s everything we every had and its not there anymore,” he said.

Twenty-one fire departments responded to the scene or were placed on standby.

Red Cross is assisting the family. The family’s dog is missing. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
