Camp Good Days to open after flash flooding

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A haven for children battling life threatening diseases will reopen Monday in the Finger Lakes. In May, Camp Good Days and Special Times on Keuka Lake took a direct hit from flash flooding.

Camp officials say severe thunderstorms that rolled across the area caused about $350,000 in damage. The flooding ruined the camp’s infrastructure, flooded several buildings and damaged other facilities at the property.

Camp Good Days says dozens of volunteers turned out to flush mud out of buildings, clean mold and rebuild what could be done by hand. Western New Yorkers came through with thousands of dollars in donations to help cover the cost of cleanup.
