NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – City leaders in North Tonawanda cut the ribbon Tuesday on a project that’s been in the works for around eight years.
Meadow Drive stretches between Nash Road and Erie Avenue now that the extension project has been complete, which according to Mayor Robert Ortt has been in the works since 2006.
He said, “The importance of the project can’t be understated. It connects our mid-city business district to the Erie Avenue Walmart corridor to Niagara Falls Boulevard. So it connects two business districts of the city. It makes it easier for residents to travel, and it makes it easier for travelers to get into North Tonawanda to get to our mid-city business district.”
The project cost more than $2 million.
