Bacteria count closes Olcott Beach

OLCOTT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Niagara County beach has been closed until further notice after bacteria was detected in the water.

Health officials say recent tests showed the water off Olcott Beach is unsafe for swimming. When swimming conditions return to a safe level, the beach will be re-opened. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
