County computers are back up after problems

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Some computers in Erie County went down Thursday morning for a period of time, but are since back up and running.

The problem affected the entire county system and developed very quickly. County computers were down until about 10 a.m. Emails and the internet were down in most, if not all, of the county.

At the Erie County Comptroller’s Office, they couldn’t move any money, which means they couldn’t accept things like bail transactions, invest taxpayer money, or handle documents that help students begin the enrollment process into community colleges.

Emergency Services was up and running throughout this brief time.
