Family hosts third annual “Jay-J’s Day Picnic”

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The family of an abused boy celebrated his courage on Saturday by hosting the third annual “Jay-J Day Picnic.”

The story of four-year-old Jay-J Bolvin inspired “Jay-J’s law”, which created stronger penalties against child abusers. Jay-J suffers from developmental delays because his father abused him as a baby.

State Senator Tim Kennedy has helped the Jay-J’s family fight for abused children.

Jay-J’s father was given a sentence of 1 & 1/3 to four years in prison. However he was released early and is now on probation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
