Historic airshow ready to take flight

GENESEO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Over 20 historically significant aircrafts will be taking to the skies over Geneseo Saturday and Sunday.

The show will feature the Whiskey 7 short after its return from France where it participated in celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

The Geneseo Airshow is put on by hundreds of volunteers from the National Warplane Museum. Guests will see a variety of aircraft, each holding a significant place in American aviation history. For a list of the aircrafts you can visit http://nationalwarplanemuseum.org/.

The event takes place at the Geneseo Airport both Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Admission at the gate is $20 for adults and free for children under 12. Proceeds from the airshow will benefit the National Warplane Museum.
