Olcott Beach reopens for swimming

OLCOTT, N.Y. (WIVB)-  The Niagara County Department of Health announced that it has rescinded a beach advisory at Olcott Beach.

Health officials said on Thursday that recent tests showed the water off Olcott Beach were unsafe for swimming.

On Saturday health officials reported that surveillance sampling conducted on July 11, 2014, by the NCDOH at Olcott Beach determined that the water is suitable for swimming.

The Niagara County Department of Health will continue to monitor water quality closely and will immediately notify the public of any problems associated with water quality.
