BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — The Sabres Development Camp started Monday. The camp features 41 of the Sabres up-and-coming talent with Sam Reinhart headlining the camp. Reinhart was on the ice at the First Niagara Center for the first time on Monday. The Sabres 2014 first-round pick said he felt good about day one on the ice with the Sabres organization.
“I think most of the guys at this stage in their development, over the course of the summer, are trying to get better everyday day and continue to work from yesterday to today to tomorrow,” Reinhart explained, ” We are going to continue to get better and more comfortable on the ice and familiar with each other. So day one has gone well.”
Reinhert, who is expected to be a key component in the Sabres offensive production in the years to come, recently signed a three-year entry-level contract with the organization.
“Obviously it was really exciting for me to be signed by this organization and I am very thankful for that. I think at the end of the day it brings me one step closer to my ultimate goal,” Reinhart said. “And my goal is to be here next year and make an impact.
Reinhart and company will have a chance to showcase their abilities. On Tuesday the players attending the development camp will take part in an inter-squad scrimmage at 7pm at the First Niagara Center. The scrimmage is open to the public.
