BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The above ground portion of the Metro Rail system will be shut down between July 18th and July 20th due to work being done to return cars to Main Street.

Metro Rail will carry customers below ground between University Station and Allen Medical Campus Station. Instead of an above ground rail service, the NFTA will operate bus service between the Allen Medical Campus Station and the Erie Canal Harbor Station.

Shuttles will operate in both directions every 15 minutes. Inbound buses will travel by way of Pearl Street and outbound buses will be on Washington Street.

The full-length rail line will open on July 21st, when single track operations are moved to the outbound side to facilitate work.
