Wife to face murder charges in court

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – An 83-year-old woman is scheduled to face arraignment Monday afternoon in the Town of Tonawanda, on charges that she murdered her husband.

Officers arrested Phyllis Eson last week. Police say she bludgeoned her husband, 89-year-old Norman Eson, to death inside their Hawthorne Avenue home.

The couple’s landlord called police and asked them to check on the couple. When they arrived, police found Mrs. Eson with blood on her clothes, and Mr. Eson dead on the floor.

Phyllis Eson was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. Her arraignment is set for 4 p.m. Monday.
