Bank robber makes off in van that has “for sale” sign

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A suspect handed a teller a note, claiming to have a gun, before making off with an undetermined amount of cash on Wednesday.

Police say the man, described as white, around 5’5″ tall and 150 pounds, entered the Citizens Bank on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo around 2 p.m. He was wearing a gray T-shirt and a Bills baseball cap and handed the teller a note demanding cash.

The thief fled the scene in a white van heading southbound on Elmwood towards Hertel. The van had a “for sale” sign in the front window.
