2014 prospect game

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – 8,725 fans showed up to watch some of the Sabres’ future stars in action Tuesday night, as the white team topped the blue team 5-1 in the team’s annual prospect scrimmage.

Jerome Leduc opened the scoring in the first period, finding a wide-open net off the rebound to give the white team a 1-0 lead. Patrick Russell and Drake Caggiula both found the net in the second period, before the blue team finally got on the board, courtesy of a Jonathon Martin goal.

Nicholas Baptiste gave the white team a 4-1 lead, with Caggiula adding an empty-netter for the final tally.

The prospects have no on-ice session scheduled for Wednesday, but development camp will continue Thursday and Friday at First Niagara Center.
