Final 3407 victim’s family settles with airlines

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) The last family who lost a loved one on-board Flight 3407 has settled with the airlines, ahead of the August trial in State Supreme Court.

This happened late Wednesday afternoon.  Attorney Terry Connors told News 4 that he met with representatives of Continental, Pinnacle Airlines and former subsidiary Colgan Air for hours to negotiate the settlement. The details of the settlement are not known.

The Newark, New Jersey-to-Buffalo flight stalled and crashed into a house in Clarence in a 2009. Accident investigators blamed the crash on pilot error. 50 people were killed in the crash.

The Wielinski family, whose Long Street home was hit by the plane, killing Doug Wielinski, still has a lawsuit pending.
