Leaders urge Cuomo to sign Jackie’s Law

Jackie's Law

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Local leaders will rally at Niagara Square Thursday at 1 p.m. to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo to sign Jackie’s Law. The bill, named after a local woman, would make using GPS devices for stalking illegal.

The measure honors Jackie Wisniewski. Her estranged boyfriend, Dr. Timothy Jorden, shot and killed her at Erie County Medical Center in 2012.

Before her death, she found a GPS tracking device on her car. Jackie’s Law has already gained approval from the State Senate and State Assembly.
