Man allegedly drove drunk, clipped car, drove away

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Cheektowaga man is facing felony drunk driving charges after an accident on May 19th at William and Harlem Roads. After the crash, 57-year-old John Fritz allegedly left the scene.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says Fritz was driving drunk on the morning of May 19th, when he clipped the back of another car and drove away. Another driver followed his car and blocked it until police arrived to the scene.

Fritz was charged with two counts of felony DWI and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting. He faces a maximum prison sentence of four years if convicted.
