MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) A Pittsburgh, PA man is in the hospital following a freak accident in Mayville, where the man’s own vehicle struck and dragged him.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies say 82 year old Norman Weizenbaum was leaving the Watermark Restaurant when he stopped his vehicle to check on something. Weizenbaum got out of the car but failed to to put the vehicle in park.

The car then apparently rolled backwards, striking Weizenbaum and dragging him through some brush before striking another parked vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.

Weizenbaum was injured and taken to Hamot Hospital via Starflight.
