Students react to Hillary Clinton speech cost

Buffalo N.Y. (WIVB) – According to University of Buffalo last year’s distinguished speaker series cost about $900,000. The university says that money was paid for with ticket sales and sponsorships. $275,000 of that went to Clinton’s appearance. The other six speakers split the rest about $625,000.

Students get free tickets to the events and some believe it’s a worthwhile expense. Others, however, felt the money would be better spent elsewhere. According to the contract between the agencies representing Hillary Clinton and the university all the money went directly to the non-profit Clinton Foundation.
