WNY educator to run against Ranzenhofer

Elaine Altman announced she will run for the NY Senate 61st District seat

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York Democrats are announcing their candidate for the 61st New York Senate, the seat currently occupied by Michael Ranzenhofer.

Elaine Altman, from East Amherst, has held several leadership positions in education and is currently the Director of the Staff Development Center in the Ken-Ton School District.

Altman pledges to educate Albany insiders on education issues with a “Send a Teacher to Albany” campaign.  She has spent 24 years as an educator.

In addition to education Altman has been active in volunteer work and anti-bullying forumas as well as the Awareness Walk for Breast Cancer.

Republican Michael Ranzenhofer was elected to the 61st NY Senate seat in 2009 and he is a practicing attorney.
