Second largest cargo plane in world stops in WNY

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – The second largest cargo plane in the world stopped by Niagara Falls Airport. The Antonov 124 arrived Thursday evening and is being filled with cargo on Friday, before it takes off at 3 p.m.

The plane is 226 feet long and 240 feet wide. The plane has 16 crew members, plus pilots. It can hold 92,000 gallons.

Airliners.net says the plane has carried the heaviest single load ever transported, a 273,400 pound power plant generator and its weight spreading cradle.
