Williamsville pilot dies from injuries

ROYALTON, N.Y. (WIVB)The pilot of the small aircraft that crashed near at the Royalton Airport has died from his injuries.

John Schnabel, 79, was injured when the plane he was flying crashed just after taking off from Royalton Airport in Niagara County late Saturday morning on July 5.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s office tells News 4 that Schnabel, who was from Williamsville, died on Wednesday, July 16 at ECMC.

According to Amigone Funeral Home, Schnabel is survived by his wife. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday. More information on callings times can be found on the Amigone Funeral Home website.
