Bar scuffle leads to Wheatfield man in a coma

WHEATFIELD, N.Y.– (WIVB)  A fight in a Niagara Falls Boulevard bar has left a Wheatfield man in a medically induced coma.

The Niagara Gazette reports that the victim, a 47-year old Wheatfield man, was found bloodied and beaten in the patio area of the The Office Bar in around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was found lying on his back on a wooden ramp leading to the patio with a bloody face and multiple injuries to his nose and face. His injuries are so sever he had to be put into a medically induced coma.

A witness told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies the fight broke out when a man approached the victim asking for a lighter.  Witnesses say the assailant was seen leaving the bar with a woman.

 Deputies are hoping to obtain security footage of the incident from the bar owner.
