BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Latino civil rights activists are rallying around Rausel Arista who is currently in the Batavia Detention Center for attempting to fly back to Charlotte, N.C. without proper documentation.

Arista, a father of two,  is with the Latin American Coalition, a group that fights for civil rights for immigrants and he was in the Buffalo for the weekend visiting friends.

Arista was stopped by a TSA and questioned by border patrol while trying trying to board a plane back home from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.  Officials say he does not have the right documentation and could be deported.
