CodeRED now available in Town of Orchard Park


ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Town of Orchard Park is the latest municipality in Western New York to contract with CodeRED, a high-speed emergency notification service.

CodeRED can be used to alert a specific area, such as one residential neighborhood, or a larger area. However, residents must sign up to receive the alerts through phone calls, text, e-mail and/or social media.

Town officials believe the new system will enable them to better alert residents about hazardous conditions, such as traffic or road conditions, boil water advisories, evacuation notices, and AMBER alerts. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
