Man allegedly drives drunk to State Police barracks

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a man who drove to their barracks to pick up a friend was instead arrested for felony DWI.

On Monday, troopers say they watched 33-year-old John Manners of Kendall exit his vehicle at their station in Albion. Manners was there to pick up a friend, but while speaking with him, officers say they could smell alcohol and Manners had glassy eyes.

He failed all field sobriety tests, according to authorities, and refused to submit to a breath test. Manners has two prior DWI convictions and was arrested for felony DWI and refusal to take a breath test.

Manners was taken to the Orleans County Jail on $500 bail. He’s due in court next month. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
