Police: Man tries to cross bridge while driving drunk

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a Massachussetts man attempted to drive across the Lewiston Queenston Bridge while intoxicated.

Troopers were called to the bridge by a Customs inspector on July 15 who had stopped 49-year-old Harry Nolds on suspicion of DWI. Police placed him under arrest and say they discovered his BAC was .17 percent.

Nolds is charged with DWI and was taken to the Niagara County Jail on $1,000 bail.
