Kane plays game in local bar league

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – When you play rec league hockey, you usually do it because you love the game and want to have some friendly competition with your friends. You don’t expect to see a Stanley Cup winning, Olympic hockey star.

Patrick Kane hit the ice at the Northtowns Center for a bar league match up. The Performax Hockey League tweeted a picture on Tuesday showing Kane on the ice.

The picture quickly went viral. Several sports networks picked it up, including ESPN and CBS sports.

If you’re wondering, the result was predictable. Kane dominated, netting five goals and five assists.
