Mail deliveries get later in parts of country

Mail

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Postal carriers’ routes are running later and later, thank to cost-cutting measures and a shrinking workforce.

A new report by the US Postal Service reports in some parts of the country, mail is being delivered later than 5 p.m. about 70 percent of the time.

The report points out that mail carriers are putting their lives in danger with these later deliveries, especially in winter, because it frequently means mail is being delivered after dark.
