Man allegedly forcibly enters home, leads pursuit

MIDDLEPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Middleport man is facing charges after allegedly leading New York State Police on a short foot chase, following an incident at a home in Royalton.

Police say 28-year-old Lazaro Alfonso was involved in a domestic situation with his girlfriend. Officers say Alfonso was involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend before leaving the residence, and then returning. He is accused of forcibly entering the home by damaging the door.

Police interviewed Alfonso, who they say tried to run from the residence. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit.

Police report the woman has an order of protection against Alfonso.

Alfonso was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Town of Lockport Court and was taken to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
