BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Elmwood Village is warning residents and visitors about three robberies that took place over the past week.
On a post to their Facebook page, the Elmwood Village said in two of the cases, the victims were injured, and in another, the suspect had a gun.
Buffalo Police say one robbery happened on the 600 block of Elmwood on July 17, just before midnight. Two people were robbed by two Hispanic males who displayed some type of handgun. The suspects made off with wallets, credit cards and a cell phone.
A second robbery happened during the overnight hours on July 19 at Norwood and Bryant, according to Buffalo Police, who say two black males assaulted a man and made off with a cell phone and credit cards. In that case, no weapon was displayed.
All three of the robberies took place around midnight or later, as did an assault reported on July 6.
Buffalo Police have assigned additional patrols to the area and one arrest has already been made.
Police remind people to be aware of their surroundings, not to be distracted by electronics and, when possible, to travel in groups.
