BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A supportive housing program for homeless women will open on Buffalo’s east side this fall.

Lt. Col. Matt Urban Services Center held a dedication and placement of a time capsule for the Hope Gardens Apartments Friday morning.

The program will provide 20 chronically homeless women with a therapeutic living environment. The center says women are the most vulnerable homeless population.

Hope Gardens is made possible with $5.6 million in grants from state and federal programs.
