PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Bills running back Fred Jackson signed a contract extension Wednesday, keeping the veteran running back off the free agent market next year.

Jackson, the Bills’ third all-time leading rusher with 5,121 career rushing yards, was entering the final year of his contract this season. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the deal is a one-year extension worth $2.6 million, plus another $1 million in incentives.

The Bills’ other primary running back, C.J. Spiller, is also in the final year of his contract.
