Ex-teacher will wait to learn fate for kissing teen

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman who was teaching at Casey Middle School when she was caught kissing a 13-year-old boy will wait a little longer to find out her punishment.

Donna Sleap will have to wait two weeks to learn her fate. She faces up to a year behind bars for having inappropriate contact with a student.

Sleap admitted to kissing the 13-year-old boy. She pleaded guilty in April to endangering the welfare of a child.

As part of her plea deal, the 49-year-old resigned from the Williamsville School District. She also surrendered her New York State teaching certificate and will not be able to re-apply for it.

There is also an order of protection keeping Sleap away from the student.

She will be sentenced on August 13th at 10 a.m.
