LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) A summer tradition gets started is getting started in Lockport on Wednesday.
Just like last year, about 33,000 people are expected to check out all the animals, food and fun rides at the Niagara County Fair.
4-H members, from a youth organization administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, worked all year getting ready for Wednesday. The 4-H motto is “Learn By Doing.” Many young people are working hard to earn Excellent, Good or Worthy ribbons and to earn the honor of representing Niagara County at the New York State Fair. Entries for different competitions include animal science, plant science, social science, nutritional science, mechanical science and natural sciences.
Proceeds from the fair support CCE-Niagara County programming that benefits children and families of Niagara County
The fair begins Wednesday at 10 a.m. and ends Sunday.
